Undergraduate
In the videos below, discover more about the two separate Interchange routes that undergraduate students can choose to take in the final year of their degree.
Interchange Research Portfolio (SOCI303)
The Short Interchange Project (SOCI311)
Postgraduate taught
The Extended Interchange Project (SOCI530)
As an alternative to a standard dissertation, the Extended Interchange Project provides you with the opportunity to undertake a research project on behalf of a local voluntary or community organisation. Working to an initial brief developed in collaboration with Interchange, you will carry out a project that address an organisation’s real-world research needs and produce knowledge with the potential to make a positive impact on their work in the local community.
The applied and collaborative nature of these projects provides opportunities to develop a range of practical research and research related skills, and to gain invaluable experience of research in the real world.
Previous projects
Interchange works collaboratively with a diverse range of voluntary and community organisations (VCOs). Learn more about the VCOs we are working with, or have worked with in the past, by visiting our partners and projects page.
Read student testimonials from past Interchange students.
Contacting Interchange
Like the rest of the Student Experience Team, the Interchange co-ordinators are on a hybrid-working schedule. If you would like to visit the office to view previous students’ reports or to speak to a co-ordinator in person, please email interchange@liverpool.ac.uk to arrange a suitable time/date. Alternatively, remote meetings are also available Monday – Friday.
